Treats

Did someone say, "TREAT?"

3 dogs come running. Buster came over for a playdate today and they were rewarded with treats!!!!

So, here is how it goes down:

I say, TREAT and all 3 come running. I had one softer rawhide with somesort of coating on it (for Alex) and then had 2 pigs ears rolled up with a yummy center for Kaden and Buster to enjoy. To see all three of their tails waggin' happily is always the best part for me. Alley and Buster sit like good little dogs and wait very patiently for their treats, while Kaden is the crazy jumping one (like the kid in class who raises his hand saying, "pick me! pick me!").

Buster gets his pig ear and takes off with look of complete happiness and tail just a waggin'. Alley gets hers and darts off in the other direction and starts on hers, all the while Kaden is still jumpin' and saying, "pick me! pick me". He finally figures out how to sit and get's his pig ear to just drop it. He wants to know what Buster has. Maybe he got something better.

Alley with her treat. She is so excited she got one.

Buster checking out what Alley got.

Buster decides Alley's treat looks much better than what he got. He is attempting to trade with Alley. He says, "Look, I will give you this pig ear here for that treat you have." All the while Kaden is just eyeing what Buster has (even though he got the exact same thing Buster did)

Wait a Darn Pickin' Minute! How did that happen?! Buster the master negoiator that he is was able to get the treat Alley had!

Yum-O! Yep! This is totally what I wanted. So good!

Alley is A-OK with the Pig ear... But... Wait... A... Minute... Where's Kaden?

He just want's what Buster has! This whole time, he has not even tasted his orginal treat. It is still sitting where he dropped it when he was given one to start with...

His life is so very rough. He is now starting to pout. He is just wandering if Buster is ever going to share...

Now, I have to apologize. I didn't get photos of how it all ended. I was busy typing this as they were chewing away. I thought that was going to be the end of it... NOT!

Somehow, Kaden got the treat that Buster fought so hard to get. Alley was still happy with Busters. What did Buster do? He went and found Kaden's orginial one and then decided he was tired of playing this silly switch-a-roo game. He went to the front door as if he was telling me, "Just let me go home and enjoy this all by myself". He stood at the front door for a little bit. He even went to Amanda's shoes and put the treat in her shoe. He then took measures into his own hand and went upstairs to where Amanda was (Amanda and Kailee were playing and had no clue to what was going on).

Long story short, Alley's and Kaden's treats are now gone. They are ready to go outside. Buster checks to make sure his treat is still in Amanda's shoe and then joins them outside.

I must make sure Buster gets home with a pigs ear...

Another Birthday...

Yep. Another Birthday has occured in our family. Happy Birthday, Dad!

I started doing a little research for you. I really think this is probably the best brand:

The Hoveround! But then I thought about it... You don't just want any Hoveround. You want the coolest Hoveround!!

How about this one with a cute little basket to put your things in? You could make your way to the grocery store to pick up a few things...

Or, better yet:

Check this out!!! A basket for your 'things'. Rear view mirrors so you can watch where you are going. My favorite is the headlights!

HA HA HA! Yes, I spent way to much of my time looking at these, but it was fun.

I guess you could say I was procrastinating from what I should really be doing...

DateNight

As crazy as things have been lately, it was time for Sean and I to get away.

We got a sitter for the kids and went to dinner. What a refresher! You don't realize how nice it is to have those little get-a-ways until you do.

To have a complete conversation without interruptions or distractions. Know what I mean? It was like falling in love all over again...

I hired the sitter, so Sean was in charge of deciding where to go. We had a great dinner at the Bristol Seafood Grill up at Towne Center.

We started with the Goat Cheese brushetta which was sooooo yummy! The creaminess of the cheese with the olives was fantastic.

He could of taken me to McDonald's and I would of been just as happy. But, the wines were great, the food was yummy, and the company was the best!

As we celebrated the fact that we have been together 15 years now, I can honestly say I look forward to the next 20!

What? Say What? I didn't hear you...

Hun? You talking to me? Yes, this sums up the past few weeks in our house. Davis had surgery back on the 8th of January to have tubes put in his ears again, adenoids, and his tonsils out.

He did really well with the surgery part - he is such a trooper. The calming medicine they gave him before hand made him crazy. It was hilarious!! Sad to say, but yes, I was laughing AT him along with the other nurses.

The first week after surgery was rougher than I thought. I really thought he would bounce back and be ready to go like he normally is. He spent most of the week laying on the couch watching tv or playing the wii.

He did go back to school after a week and a half, but you could tell he still wasn't himself. But the trooper that he is, he never complains.

So, to my surprise, a week ago he still wasn't what I call back to Davis. We had a conference with the teacher at school who informed us that she doesn't think he is hearing well yet as he is just mimicking the others on work. The very next day, he did tell us his ear hurt. Those that know Davis would know that if he says something hurts it is usually pretty bad. We took him into the ENT where he had an infection already!

Seriously?! 3 weeks to the day and an infection?! He was put on a strong antibotic and perioxide in the ear twice a day.

3 days later...

He tells me his ear still hurts. I immediately take him back into the ENT. Guess what? yep! An ear infection in the OTHER EAR now! It's a good thing Davis can't hear very well as his mother said some not so nice things to the poor Dr...

He goes back again this Friday for another check and a hearing test. This should hopefully be the end of it and we should be seeing improvement from here - please!

Why do I bring this up? Well, I am starting to wonder. The past month Davis has not really been sleeping in his bed. He has been on the couch or our bed, or someplace elevated. Where has Kaden been sleeping the past month? Yes, Davis' bed.

Last night as I put him in his bed, he immediately starts itching all over and sneezing and wheezing. He comes downstairs and tells me he needs medicine. I gave him benadryl and marched him back to his bed where I discovered Kaden's hair on the comforter.

DUH! It hit me! The light bulb came on.

I went into my frantic mode and stripped the comforter and sheets giving him a freshly washed blanket and sending Kaden out of the room.

Is this the reason for the ears? Is he really allergic to dogs? Say, What? Dogs?

He has had issues with all of this since the day he was born. We have had Alex for almost 12 years.

He has had allergy testing done. I remember he scored a 3.5 out of 5 when it came to dogs. This can not be right. I am simply over reacting...

My Hubby

Isn't he cute? Do you see him? Do you really know him? Even if you do know him, let me tell you a few things you might not know...

He's the most down-to-earth guy I have ever met.

He totally keeps me grounded and calls me out when I start flying up.

He would do anything for anyone. Really. Seriously.

He might just be the quietest, but you know he is always there.

He just has this presence about him.

He is definitely the most dedicated, hard-working guy there is.

He is my man. He supports me. He is my Love.

Love ya, Hun!

Happy Birthday Melissa!!!

Crap. I mean, Crap. Crap. Crap. In all of my about me phase lately, I forgot something important. It's bad, real bad.

I forgot to call my Sister on her Birthday! I know, right???!!!!!!

Crap. Crap. Crap.

I so hope she forgives me. Melissa? Are you there? Can you hear me?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIS!!!! Hope it was a good one and you didn't do anything too crazy!

Procrastination

Hhmmm. Makes me think. Do I procrastinate? Me? Come on now, Seriously?

Really?

Procrastination?

Me?

FINE! You WIN! Yes, I procrastinate! I am probably the QUEEN of Procrastination!

I was thinking today that I need to really get some things done. One of those things is to update this blog. I know, I have not done a very good job of keeping it up this year. I keep putting it off, or shall I say... Procrastinate.

So, I sat down just now knowing darn and well that I really need to update this blog here, and I sit and sit and think and think of what it is I want to write about. I could tell you all about the Holidays. I could go back and tell you all the fun stories of Davis' surgery. I could go into the fact that I have just one more free day before I go back to work. The list goes on. But, NO, I sit and sit. I think and think...

Ho hum is what I am saying right at this very moment. I am simply procrastinating. Ah Ha! I think to myself. Let's talk about procrastination!!!! Just what really is procrastination?

Well, according to California State University, Procrastion is "a complex psychological behavior that affects everyone to some degree or another. With some it can be a minor problem; with others is is a source of considerable stress and anxiety. Procrastination is only remotely related to time management, (procrastinators often know exactly what they should be doing, even if they cannot do it), which is why very detailed schedules usualy are no help."

I know exactly what I am supposed to be doing! I can make list after list of the things I need to do. I know that I will get everything done, just let me do it when I am ready...

All this rambling going on is starting to make myself go nuts! I think I have procrastinated long enough!!!!

Time to get some bloggin' done - HA!

Or maybe I should sit and sit, think and think some more...
