HAPPY 8th Birthday, Kailee!!!!

I can not believe our Kailee is 8! She will be going into 3rd grade this year and is very excited! Her favorite part about today? She is rubbing it in that she no longer needs a car seat. Seriously?! That is her highlight of the day, no more carseat?? Me, on the otherhand, am sobbing inside as I remove the booster seat from the van. What makes the difference between yesterday and today?

I am so proud of my Kailee. She is such a joy to be around. I know she has had some struggles this year, but I am VERY PROUD of her and know she is heading in the right direction. We are so fortunate to have great neighbors with great daughters for Kailee to have the best of friends in this neighborhood. As this year goes by, I pray she finds her innerbeauty and stands tall and shines proudly! She has so much to offer this world!

So, we normally let the birthday girl pick a place to eat for dinner on their birthday. With tonight being full we went last night. Kailee only wanted La Fuente (We really miss not having that around the corner from the house)! So, we headed to Lee's Summit and enjoyed our dinner!

We had a great time! Happy Birthday Sweatheart!!!!

Today was a great day! I started at 6am with a 4 mile walk which put me in a good mood. The kids both woke up happy and we started the day. Last night we had set a new ground rule with the kiddos which amounted to the fact that they are not allowed to watch tv, being on the computer, or play with friends until their chores are done in the morning. So, come 10:30 this morning this is what Davis was doing:

And this is what Kailee was doing:

Now for those that know my children, know that their is something SERIOUSLY wrong with these pictures! First of all, my sweet Kailee who is a rule follower, was doing absolutely nothing but looking at craft books for the crafts she was planning on doing for the day. Davis, the total rule-breaker child, was CLEANING!

I guess Kailee must of got bored at some point today as her chores were finally complete at 2:30 this afternoon. Davis on the other hand was willing to do about anything to have a chance to go outside and play.

It will be fun to see how they do again tomorrow as they are suppose to have playdates in the morning with the neighbors.

Rainy Summer Day with Rainy Summer Day Thoughts...

Today is suppose to be one of those Rainy Summer Days. You know the ones where you wake up and realize you aren't ready to actually 'get up'. The one where you have that extra groggy feelin' of BLAH. As of this moment, Davis and Alex (The Golden) are still in bed. Of course, Kaden doesn't realize yet what happens to NORMAL people on Rainy days, so I had to pretend I was not groggy or BLAH, and get up as usual. Sean must be feeling it as well today, as the coffee was made and a cup waiting for me this morning... I am starting to wonder if this is a nice gesture he is giving me in the morning or if maybe it's for his own good.

Why is it at this time of the year, I tend to lose my temper even easier than I normally would? Could it be the fact that the kids are just being kids? Is it that I try each and every day to do the 'domestic' household chores, and by 10am, I get to start them all over again?

So, on this rainy summer morning, I wonder to myself, "just what will we do today?" I know my list is polar opposite of the list of Kailee and Davis that's for sure. My dream list would include a nice book and a couch. But, I can already here, "Mom, I'm bored." "Mom, Davis won't leave me alone." "Mom, Kailee hit me." "Mom, Mom, Mom..." Where I, in the end, scream... STOP!!!!

So, as I type this this morning, I have a piece of paper and pen next to me ready to write down any idea that comes to mind when I think of just how today will go. I have a list of chores I would like to get done. I have a list of chores for the kids. I have a list of ideas for "Mom, I'm bored.". But, I can probably bet that life will not go by my lists today... So, at the top of each page, I have just wrote IDEAS ONLY...

As I approach this Rainy Summer Day. I simply pray. I pray for patience. I pray for peace. I pray we make it in one whole piece.

Back to School

CLEAN IT UP! Kailee and her friends decided it was time to clean out the classroom and start fresh! They spent about 2 hours yesterday working on it and are about done. Kailee is at the age where she just LOVES to play school and do crafts and projects. So, we pulled the dinning room table and chairs out and changed the Dinning Room into a Classroom for them to have at it! Over time, it gets to be a complete mess and needs to be cleaned out and updated. So, the girls went to town today. I will post pictures of the new room once they get it all done. I think they had a good time 'organizing'.

What's for Breakfast?

Hhhmmmm? Which cereal should I have today??? I just can't decide, so let me get them all out and take a look...

Well, this one looks pretty good, Have I had this one before?

FiberOne????!!! Seriously?! Are you sure you want that one?

Lovely... We shall see how the day goes! HA HA HA!

The Next Katie Curic(?)

Kailee received a digital camera for her birthday that has a video option on it. She LOVES it! We have pictures of just about everything imaginable to say the least. Her new favorite thing to do is make 'Episodes' using the video option.

Here is one of them with her brother hangin' in the garage yesterday.

Thanks for NaNa, Gramps, Sandra, and Jason for one of the 'coolest' gifts ever!
We Can only imagine what is to come.

My favorite part of this video is about half way through when Davis is on the skateboard and wiggles his butt to try and make it go... Too cute!

Kailee is pretty excited about this getting 'published' and has a little something to say.

Now, here is Kailee:

All of my videos are funny bye for now see you next time. don't miss all of my videos!!!!!!!

(Not to bad for an 8 year old beginner typer, hun)

2 dogs or 3?

Davis has decided he is a dog! He must of been one in a past life, because he plays the part pretty well! Ever since we got Kaden he has spent most of his days being a dog. He will do tricks, eat and drink from a bowl, the whole 9 yards! When you give Kaden a treat, you also have to give Davis one. He even likes for the leash to be attached and wants to go for 'walks'. Oh, Davis....

Our New Baby

Our little guy is getting pretty spoiled rotten that's for sure! The girls like to wrap him in a blanket as their baby and take care of him - poor guy! :)

Here is Ella, Amanda, Kailee, Brielle, Anna, and Davis 'cooing' all over the little guy!

Kaden is a good puppy so far - as long as He is with someone! He hates his crate and hates to be left alone! I can't believe I have to admit that he sleeps with Sean and I in our bed at night (Hey, if I can get more than 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep at a time...). His only down fall right now is posing for pictures! I can't seem to get the guy to smile at the camera! Here's a few pictures to enjoy:

More Travels...

I'm off to rendezvous with a man...
A great little story, only if have time.
I met him 14 years ago and we have been seeing each other ever since...

Of course some things have changed.
I've had 2 babies...
We've moved 3 times...
I'm a good 20 pounds heavier (but, hey! Who's counting?)...

This man treats me with respect and is a great family man.

This man has a name...Sean.

So, we are off for a mini rendezvous, for 4 nights and 5 days...
I like to call it "couples therapy".

We are off to Philly and New York.
Of course, no trip would be complete with out a ball game, so Red Sox/Yankees here we come!

Oh, if you have any book recommendations, send them my way!

One of these days...

I promise to get it done - HA! I know I have been saying this was going to be done a year ago. It seems, everytime I think about getting a family blog started, life seems to happen and I get sidetracked!

This summer has been one of the craziest by far! We have been gone most of the summer and are just now getting settled with staying at home and enjoying 'summer'. I won't go into all the details of the whats and wheres of the past few months, but hope to keep this blog going from here on out.

We are currently trying to prepare for Kailee's 8th (scary!!!!) Birthday party as well as taking care of our newest member of the family - Kaden! He is our 8 week old Lhasa Apso puppy that we rescued. We had him in the vet last week for his first shots. He is up to a whopping 4 pounds! Alex must of weighed 4 pounds at the moment of birth! Here are a few pictures of the little guy:

I will really try and keep this going from here on out! More to come!
