This is my new favorite song at the moment and wanted to share it with you. Its one of those songs when you hear it, you want to hear it again and again. With everything Aylene and Dave have been going through, this song hits even harder.
This is a newer song and is not available yet for me to add to my normal playlist thus is why there is a link with the lyrics.
For a quick update on Aylene: I can not thank you enough for all your prayers!! Aylene went back on to the drug that she was on before (The one that made her so sick)but at a half dose and already after a few days on it, her blood work is showing signs that it is working! She is doing 10 days of radiation to help with the spot on her back and was doing good last we heard. She makes the trip back to Denver again this next week, let's hope we continue to hear more good news!
So, pause the music at the bottom of the page first and then scroll back up to listen to this one:

Remember...
This lady?
Well, she could really use your prayers again. We got a phone call this afternoon as they were headed out the door. The Drs in Denver called and wanted to see her. Her enzyme levels are still off even though she has been off the pill for a few weeks. So they packed. They packed fast and headed out for their long 6 hour drive to Denver.
Aylene is scheduled to have another MRI tomorrow at 6 in the morning. Yep, they are working her in... fast.
Please keep her and Dave in your prayers. And, hopefully, we hear something quick!
**Update**
So, I guess the concern is liver metastases. Sean's Grandmother called this evening and said she had talked to Aylene's Dr. in Western, KS and brought this up. Ugh! Waiting....sucks.

New Year's Resolutions...
a.k.a DREAMS.
Here we go. Start of the New Year! Start of a new beginning. I have had a really hard time the past couple of days thinking of New Years this year. Don't know why. It comes each and every year. No surprise, we know it's coming.
Am I getting old? Probably. As this New Year approached I struggled with Resolutions. Do I do the norm? Do I say get organized, eat healthy, and lose weight? Do I say it again as I have said the past 10 years?
Yesterday I spent a good part of the day in my pajamas (A thank you to Bobbi for forcing me to get out of them) and thinking about New Year's Resolutions. I spent part of the day thinking of what people where saying on Facebook, that they were looking forward to 2010 and shutting the door to 2009. Lots of comments about looking forward to better things to come.
So, my thoughts wondered....
Just how do they get better? We don't just transform overnight at the midnight drop of the ball to those better days. Do we?
We make Resolutions, but do we plan for them to stick? Do we plan for them to become our reality?
thus, I have called my New Year's Resolution this year a DREAM. DREAMS are what we wish for correct? Dreams are what we look forward to? Dreams are what we strive to reach?
Looking forward to our year of 2010, there is so much that I want:
For Aylene and Dave to feel great and have the chance to really enjoy life this year.
For my daughter to find her confidence.
For my son to hear correctly.
For my husband to have a break he so deserves from working so hard. May his hours spent working pay off for him.
For Alex to have peace and less pain.
For my Grammi, that her spark does not dwindle. She continues to amaze me each and every day.
For Lorene, that she regains her strength and continues to make us laugh.
For Chad to continue to inspire others
For Jason to also have a break he so deserves. May his hours spent working pay off for him.
For Melissa to find her way.
For Mom to have peace.
For Dad to find what really makes him happy.
For God to guide me in a direction that betters myself and family.
Looking forward to 2010, I look forward to the hopes, the inspirations, and lessons we must learn. The power of DREAMS.

Oh Where, Oh Where are they?
Oh where, oh where could they be? Have you seen them?
Those Barretts are lost and we can not find them!
Where have they been? What are they doing?
How could they run and hide and not keep in touch?
Oh where, oh where...
HERE we ARE!!!! We are back! We are finally home. We have found them. Found them unpacking. Found them enjoying a day of peace. Found them and know they are being asked to spill all their travels and fun. Found them and have scolded them for not staying in touch!
